There’s a stillness at the center of Millie Gibson’s music. Blending alternative R&B and neo soul threaded through with jazz and groove, her sound is warm and unhurried, built on synths, keys, guitar and rhythmic percussion that give her deeply human songwriting room to breathe. Drawing from her own experiences navigating self doubt, personal growth, heartbreak, and periods of emotional uncertainty, Millie uses songwriting as a way to process life's transitions and create space for connection, reflection, and healing.
After years of musical training, the independent artist currently based in New York began releasing music independently in 2019. Her debut EP Own Drum announced, in 2022, the thematic territory she’d make her own: the processing of life’s transitions, inspired for this project by her experiences navigating anxiety, rebuilding self confidence, and learning to trust her own voice both as an artist and as an individual. The EP caught the attention of outlets like Stereofox and Finessed Media, alongside airplay and interviews with stations such as Reprezent Radio and Voices Radio.
Since then, Millie has continued to build her audience on both sides of the Atlantic. She has performed at venues including Rockwood Music Hall, Mercury Lounge, and the Inwood Jazz Festival Jam Session in New York, as well as London at Tileyard Café, Brasserie Zédel, The Lower Third, and Dalston Curve Garden, where she supported Ego Ella May’s show produced by Woodburner Music.
Her 2024 release Ripple marked a new creative chapter, earning praise from EARMILK, Ones to Watch, and Music Crowns. Last year, her single eleven : eleven surpassed 350,000 streams across DSPs, landing editorial support from Spotify but also TIDAL. The latter opened doors to a sync campaign for TIDAL, Square and Cash App for Bitcoin Day 2026. Millie was also selected to participate in The Digilogue’s Creator Camp at SXSW 2026, further expanding her presence on the independent music scene.
Known for her emotionally resonant songwriting and jazz-infused vocal delivery, Millie strives to push her artistry forward through immersive sonic worlds that feel both intimate and cinematic. Out on June 23, 2026, her upcoming single Rekindle picks up where eleven : eleven left off. Written in the wake of a period of emotional exhaustion and uncertainty, the song invites you, with vulnerability, to let go of old patterns and find compassion for yourself during times of change.
